WW84 has a new trailer!

The 2nd trailer for Patty Jenkin’s WW84 finally dropped at the Warner Bros.’ free virtual DC FanDome event on Saturday – and now we finally know what Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig) looks like when she transforms into Wonder Woman’s supervillain, Cheetah!

Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) is back too – now that’s something I’m really curious about. He pretty clearly died at the end of the first Wonder Woman movie, so what gives?

And then there’s a couple of shots of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) lassoing what appears to be the empty sky and getting pulled into the air. So, invisible jet, am I right? In one scene tho, I have to admit it did look like she had hitched her lasso to a lightning bolt which doesn’t really make sense, but hey, why not? She is the daughter of Zeus and maybe she has privileges.

As we come close to the end of the trailer, we get the Cheetah reveal.

The fur looks real shaggy to me, and maybe I would have preferred a sleeker look, but then I saw the work they did on the other anatomical details, and I’m like, ok. That’ll do.

Check out your cat’s legs and you’ll understand why I called attention to cheetahs legs. In contrast, take a look at this:

Even in the most feral depictions of her, comic book Cheetah still retained the human ankle configuration.

So it’s awesome seeing the movie version deciding to go the other way. And check out that tail!

As the trailer winds down, we finally see Cheetah standing still for a moment, giving us this screencap-able moment. I brightened up this picture a lot so you can enjoy it more. You’re welcome.

WW84 might get released in the US in October. No word yet, though, when we’re gonna get it on Netflix PH. I may like Jenkins’ Wonder Woman, but I sorta like not being sick more.
