Spox is back

Thanks to Dr. Edgard Cabangon, my column in the @BusinessMirror is back. SPOX will now be appearing on Thursdays, in the Opinion pages of the country’s top business newspaper. As before, the column will try to shed light on the work the Commission on Elections does – hopefully explaining the whys and wherefores, and demystifying election management. And speaking of demystifying things, a recent conversation with someone (whom I privately categorize as “someone who ought to know better”) has convinced me of the necessity to re-explain some of the things that went on in the last elections. So, given the space limitations, I’ll do the best I can to explain – among other things – this so-called 7 hour glitch, and its ilk. This time around though, I won’t just be writing about the elections and the COMELEC. From time to time, I’ll also be writing about other things I’ve been doing since the last elections – including my advocacy work. Hopefully, the mix of topics will make for more readable fare. Oh and one last thing before this turns into a list of new year’s resolutions. I will be cross-posting my articles on here, several days after publication in the paper. Still, if you’re not reading the actual paper, I strongly recommend you head on over to the BusinessMirror website (HERE) coz it’s got tons of really good content. Wish me luck – or anything else – in the comments below.
