In accordance with the COMELEC’s duty to provide procedural rules that will give litigants in the Automated Election System, an accessible, inexpensive, and speedy remedy, the Commission today promulgated COMELEC Resolution No. 9720, amending Rules 2, 6, 8, 13, and 15 of COMELEC Resolution No. 8804, as amended by COMELEC Resolution No. 9164.
Also today, the COMELEC en banc, in Minute Resolution No. 13-0775, approved the recommendations of the Campaign Finance Unit, on the compliance of Senatorial candidates, and their political parties, with the requirement to file Statements of Contributions and Expenditures. The approved recommendations include those concerning the imposition of fines.
