Like I told you guys before, there are 12 separate categories of registration related transactions our COMELEC offices are keyed to handle. Because they all have long-winded names – making it hell to create graphs if I’m being totally honest – we came up with some simple codes for each of them.
So, Registration of New Voters will now – and for purposes of Education and Information Department materials (and this blog, naturally) – be referred to as NEWVOT. Alright. The abbreviations were not based on how cool they would sound, but if it helps you, you can read that as “New Vote.”
Transferring from one city to another will be TRANOT – TRAN, obviously standing for Transfer and OT to Other, as in transfer to other cities or municipalities. Getting the drift yet?
TRANSA would be Transfer to a different address but within the same city or municipality; TRANRE, Transfer with Reactivation; and TRANRC would be Transfer with Reactivation.
Here’s the rest: I concede that it might be a little difficult to memorize at first, but since we intend to keep a running tally of these numbers for NCR, I’m pretty certain we’ll all get the hang of it soon.
