Or more accurately: the headlines I wish the papers would run with tomorrow. But that’s too long a title.
“2 COMPANIES BID FOR AUTOMATION”
Yeah, because two companies did submit their eligibility requirements (which, technically, form part of their bids) for the COMELEC’s procurement of 23,000 optiucal mark reader (OMR) ballot counting machines: Indra and Smartmatic. Tomorrow, they present the tech solutions they’re offering in an end-to-end testing session.
“BIDDERS PROVIDE SOURCE CODES”
Yeah, because both Indra and Smartmatic submitted copies of their source codes. Indra, in what looks like a thumb drive, and Smartmatic – based on the size of the case – probably on a CD.
“COMELEC’S MOST VOCAL CRITICS PARTICIPATE CONSTRUCTIVELY IN THE OPENING OF BIDS.”
Except that I didn’t see anyone I recognized there. Well, one can hope, right?
