Does he have what it takes to be Prez of his country? Wyclef Jean thought so. His followers thought so. Heck, even his opponents had to acknowledge that his international clout could help his country during it’s darkest hours.
But the Haitian election management body ruled that he wasn’t eligible to run, after deliberating on the residency issues involved.
“Though I disagree with the ruling, I respectfully accept the committee’s final decision, and I urge my supporters to do the same,” Jean said in a statement.
So, does this man have what it takes to run Haiti? We may never know, and his dignified response only makes that ignorance much harder to swallow.
